Since September 2014 the Government have introduced Universal Free School Meals for all children in Foundation through to Year 2. Meals are cooked on the premises and served to the children.
Our lunch menu rotates on a three week cycle. We are currently on the Autumn/Winter menu, as detailed below.
Please note that the allergen requirement of the EU Food Information to Consumers Regulation comes into force from 13 December 2014.
The legislation is implemented in the UK by Food Information Regulations 2014. This legislation requires any caterer providing ‘loose food’ i.e. not pre – packed to provide information to customers of allergenic ingredients within dishes.
There are 14 allergens that need to be identified if they are used as an ingredient in a dish. Commercial Services, who provide school lunches at our school have informed us that in partnership with their suppliers they have in place a robust system to identify the allergens in their primary menu. Information regarding the 14 allergens for the three week menu cycle is available to parents or anyone who requires this information via their web site www.myschoollunch.co.uk/surrey.
